The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for handling routine accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Manages flow of incoming payments, ensuring accuracy and proper recording into the accounting system in accordance with revenue recognition policies
- Works closely with the Philanthropy Team to analyze donor agreements and grant contracts to determine proper revenue classification, with a primary focus on accurately tracking restricted and unrestricted funds;
- Accurately records invoice information, ensuring it is consistent with company policies and procedures, and maintains detailed financial records;
- Assists with monitoring expenses against annual budgets;
- Maintains internal and State reporting for stale checks;
- In coordination with the Philanthropy Team, assists in providing excellent customer service to investors related to payments, tax forms and other financial matters;
- Processes all investor principal and interest payments;
- Coordinates all finance-related functions pertaining to investments, equity equivalent investments, and other notes payable;
- Maintains balance sheet schedules and performs monthly reconciliations to ensure balances match with the general ledger;
- Assists with the preparation and distribution of annual IRS forms 1098 and 1099;
- Assists with the annual financial audit and prepares assigned audit schedules;
- Performs monthly close activities including preparation and entry of assigned monthly journal entries;
- Cross-trains with other Finance Team members to provide back-up as needed; and
- Assumes special projects and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Accounting, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Three years of accounting experience or equivalent, nonprofit experience is a plus.

- Ability to answer telephones and use standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.);
- Ability to read, write, and understand and speak English clearly;
- Ability to use a computer for Community Loan Fund business;
- Ability to lift at least five pounds.
Employment Details
- Location: Concord, NH and hybrid (in office Tuesday and Wednesday; training will be in person)
- Starting Salary: $65,000
