Partners Come Together for Housing Supply Coalition
The median price of a home in New Hampshire now exceeds $500,000 and residents consistently rank housing as the top issue facing the state. Young people are being forced to leave because they can’t afford to buy their first home here and businesses are struggling to hire and retain the talented workforce they need. The lack of affordable housing impacts us all. Recognizing this, the Business and Industry Association (BIA) created the Housing Supply Coalition.
“It took us decades to get us into the crisis we are in. It is going to take the concerted action of several years to get us out,” said Mike Skelton, BIA President & CEO.
Our voices are stronger together. We're proud to join with the BIA and other community leaders to collectively advocate for pro-housing supply policies in the 2025 legislative session.
By bringing members of the business community together with industry experts in housing, tourism, and finance, the BIA and this Coalition brought a powerful, unified voice to the State House. We applaud Mike Skelton and the rest of the members of the Housing Supply Coalition for working to increase affordable housing options in our state.
“We were proud to have the Community Loan Fund join our NH Housing Supply Coalition and stand alongside the many chambers of commerce and business organizations calling for bold policy action to address our state’s housing supply and affordability crisis," Skelton said.
