Vacant lots at resident-owned communities provide affordable housing opportunities in New Hampshire’s Monadnock Region.
Across the Monadnock Region, rising rent costs and home prices are putting safe, stable housing out of reach for too many people, including those with low incomes, younger people, and retired people with fixed incomes. If you’re struggling with housing costs, there may be a solution waiting for you in one of the vacant lots in the area’s resident-owned communities (ROC).
Take just three minutes to watch this video, produced with grant funding from the Monadnock United Way, about vacant lots for safe, high-quality, energy-efficient homes at local ROCs and see if it might be right for you.

What is a ROC?
ROCs (resident-owned communities) are manufactured home parks that are owned and run cooperatively by the people who live there.
What are my manufactured housing options?
- You can purchase an existing home—we can help you locate one that works for you.
- You can purchase new, high-quality, energy-efficient, factory-made housing. Single-wide homes start at around $80,000, while double-wide homes start at approximately $110,000—with typically lower monthly costs than renting or other home prices.
Contact our New Home Specialist [Alan Blake] at [google number] for more information and assistance. We can walk you through your options and put you in touch with both home manufacturers/sellers and the board of a local ROC to identify a lot that suits you.
