Michele Talwani joined the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund in February 2020 as its Community Relations Director. In this role, she acts as a steward to increase the organization's visibility and to establish and grow partnerships that lead to more donors, investors, and borrowers, with the goal of helping to solve unmet community needs.
She has over 20 years of communications, philanthropy, marketing, strategic thinking, external relations, and nonprofit management experience.
Prior to joining the Community Loan Fund, she worked for 10 years at Families in Transition (FIT), one of New Hampshire’s largest homeless services organizations. She held several positions there, including the most recent as the Vice President of Communications and Marketing, where she was responsible for the development of the agency’s marketing, public relations, fundraising appeals, and communications strategy, including acting as the organization’s media spokesperson.
Prior to this role, for nearly nine years, she was the Vice President of Economic Development and Marketing and was responsible for oversight, strategy, and execution of all aspects of philanthropy, volunteer management, OutFITters Thrift Stores, FIT Cleaning Solutions, and the marketing/communications for the agency and its related businesses.
Prior to joining FIT, she worked for 12 years at the NH Community Development Finance Authority, most recently as their External Relations and Communications Director. Prior to that, she was a Marketing Consultant for the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative in Plymouth and a Lecturer in Marketing at Plymouth State University.
Michele earned her Bachelor Business Management and MBA from Plymouth State University. She is a graduate of Leadership New Hampshire.
She was on the Board of Directors of the Community Loan Fund and is the chair of Leadership New Hampshire’s Selection Committee.
