Committed to Strong Communities

Our ROC-NH and ROC USA® teams are dedicated to providing up-to-date information for and about resident-owned communities, so that ROC residents can make informed decisions.

Community Leadership Training Series

Offered annually, this 6-month series of workshops (one Saturday a month) combines education, networking, and practical application. These in-person and online sessions take a down-to-earth approach to skill-building to give co-op members the tools needed to be successful leaders in ROC communities — and beyond.

From governance and accountability, to effective communication and reducing conflict, this training series will provide advanced tools for successful ROCs. Gather ideas from fellow co-op members from across the state and identify areas for collaboration and peer-to-peer support.

Details

Community leaders are the engines of thriving resident-owned communities.

We believe every community member is, has been, or could be, a community leader — volunteers, committee chairs, elected directors, and members who are willing to step up when needed. Leadership roles are as varied as the tasks that need to be done.

Every co-op member has experience, talent, and knowledge that could be helpful to others struggling with the same, or similar, challenges.

Anyone living in a N.H. resident-owned community is eligible. Participants are NOT required to hold a board position in their communities.

The series is free and open to all members of NH’s resident-owned communities. Class sizes are limited and an application process is required. Classes are held in person at the NH Community Loan Fund, 7 Wall St., Concord, NH, or online.

More Resources

New Hampshire laws and standards along with other resources as they become available.

New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated (RSA) 205-A are the state laws that regulate manufactured-home (mobile home) parks. Resident-owned communities (ROCs), their members and residents must follow, and are protected by, these laws.

All cooperative members should be familiar with RSA 301-A, which governs consumer cooperatives, including ROCs.

RSA 540 affects the landlord-tenant relationship and are applicable in manufactured housing where not inconsistent with RSA 205-A.

ROCs are also incorporated under the state's RSA 293-A, which offer guidance in the proper operation of a cooperative.
