VP of People & Operations
The Vice President of People & Operations will help lead the organization’s strategic people management, board of directors’ functions, and manage our organization’s operations to advance our mission.
The organization has grown substantially in the last four years, and this new role is key to helping us implement human resources and performance management systems that are fair and consistent. It includes training and identifying appropriate training for managers to support their individual and team members’ success, supporting internal talent development, rolling out our new performance management system and implementing performance evaluations consistently throughout the organization.
The position is also responsible for carrying out the Boards strategic goals and operations, as well as leading the organization-wide operations team in the effective daily operations of our physical campus locations, including all internal events and meetings. The position will work closely with the VP of Organizational Systems and Strategy and the VP of Federal Programs and Impact to implement the goals and strategies of the organization while reinforcing our culture, values, and mission.
This position will support the Executive, Senior, and Program Management teams in fostering an organizational culture of clarity, accountability, and talent development through growth mindset, aligned with our mission and vision.
This position is responsible for board strategy and operations in alignment with the Executive team and the management of the Operations Team.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
People Development
Performance Management
- Design, implement, and maintain fair and consistent performance management systems and processes
- Partner with managers to conduct effective performance reviews and development conversations
- Provide coaching to leaders on addressing performance issues and recognizing high performers
Talent Development
- Develop and support management implementation of Onboarding system and processes
- Identify skill gaps and training needs across the organization
- Develop and deliver training programs for current and future managers
- Create career development pathways and succession planning strategies
- Implement programs to retain and grow diverse top talent
Strategic Human Resources Support
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on people-related matters in coordination with COO and Human Resources Manager
- Align human resources initiatives with business objectives and organizational strategy
- Analyze human resources metrics and trends to help inform Senior Management decision-making
- Drive consistency in human resources policies, procedures, and practices across departments
Employee Relations
- In coordination with COO and Human Resources Manager, provide guidance on employee relations issues, conflicts, and workplace concerns
- Support organizational culture initiatives and employee engagement efforts
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
Change Management
- Support implementation of organizational change initiatives
- Help managers and teams navigate transitions effectively
- Communicate changes clearly and address concerns
Board and Operations
- Leads Operations Team (Ops) to effectively guide organization-wide operations and facilities to ensure day-to-day and long-term operational excellence in serving program team needs and physical campus.
- Working with the President and COO, evaluates internal systems and processes with regard to legal compliance, contract compliance, quality, consistency and efficiency; designs and implements systems that will allow for the orderly, timely and professional completion of tasks as requested in a fast-paced, time critical, multi-tasking environment; and work with the Operations team to develop standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for Operations annual budget and workplan Implementation in line with the strategic plan
- Perform staff management, including performance reviews and staff development.
- Leads the strategic coordination of the Board of Directors and board committees meetings, agendas and alignment with strategic plan goals under the direction of the CEO and COO, with support from the Manager of Office and Executive Operations. Support Executive and Senior Leadership teams in problem-solving and decision-making
General
- Work closely with other members of the organization to advance and implement executive and organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships across the organization as well as with key stakeholders, partners, and relevant external organizations.
- Ability to develop and execute global strategies in coordination with President and COO, as well as ensuring that how decisions may impact individual programs and/or external stakeholders has been considered.
- Ability to maintain composure and calm demeanor in stressful/high-pressure situations.
- The ability to exercise executive level discretion and confidentiality in all dealings.
- Must adhere to policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines including fair lending and ethical behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum 7-10 years of people management, progressively responsible Human Resources responsibilities and business operations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders/customers.
- Proven managerial excellence in motivating, coaching and developing staff and teams.
- Skilled in performance management, training design, and talent development.
- Demonstrated experience working with boards of directors and executive leadership to execute decisions and follow through after meetings.
- Demonstrated high fluency with all programs in the Windows Office Suite.

- Demonstrated experience with public speaking.

- Ability to convey appropriate messages in a meaningful and compelling way to represent the Community Loan Fund through various forms of public engagement to diverse groups.
- Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, both scheduled and ad hoc, in a dynamic organizational culture subject to ambiguous or uncertain external factors.
- Proven track-record of developing successful internal talent and supporting management and leadership growth.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Work, Excel, Outlook, etc)

Employment Details
- Location: Concord, NH and hybrid (in office Tuesday and Wednesday; training will be in person)
- Salary range: $112,000 to $120,000
