The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund has awarded $330,000 in funding to 115 small business owners since 2023.

Imagine receiving notice that the land underneath your home will be sold in just 60 days. It’s a situation that many manufactured-home owners face as out-of-state investors seek to take ownership and control of New Hampshire’s manufactured-home communities, eliminating the last affordable path to homeownership for many of our neighbors. 

A Community Loan Fund borrower from Keene, N.H. was recently featured in the 2026 CDFI Progress Report from the CDFI Coalition.

Exeter TV recently put a spotlight on an energy solutions program for the Community Loan Fund's resident-owned communities in Exeter.

"The Town of Exeter's Energy Committee and Planning Department have secured a U.S. Department of Energy Grant to help fund energy efficient upgrades for low-income residents. We have partnered with ROC-NH, Resilient Buildings Group and Unitil/NHSaves to secure funding to help reduce home energy cost through installation of energy efficient measures. These grant funds can be used for a variety of efficient upgrades like HVAC upgrades, insulation, air-sealing, water heater upgrades, programmable thermostats, and more."

Elise Foerster, energy project specialist for ROC-NH, noted: "The New Hampshire Saves Program is through the utility companies... all of them in New Hampshire. And then the town of Exeter received an additional $200,000 grant from the Department of Energy to further subsidize the income-driven route of the New Hampshire Saves program."

Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) supports the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund and its efforts to help families become homeowners. 

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund’s Community-Driven Economic Empowerment (C-DEE) grant program is now accepting applications.

The Community Loan Fund will use these funds to aid low- to moderate-income families in purchasing new and affordable energy efficient manufactured homes.
