to our mortgage borrowers

In moments of crisis, our communities sustain us. We at the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund are determined to support our community of borrowers and partners in as many ways as we can for as long as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis lasts.

As we learn more about the virus’s spread, be assured that our staff and our services are fully operational, even though we are all working from our homes instead of from our Concord offices.

Here are some resources that can help you make informed decisions about your own plans.

What we're doing

Keep going: We’re still on the job. Our lending is more important than ever to support the hardworking homebuyers in our community. We are strongly committed to continuing to help homebuyers feel the pride, accomplishment, and stability of homeownership.

Be available, and be safe: We want to connect with you in the safest way possible. So to help prevent the spread of infection, our Wall Street offices have closed and we're meeting only by phone or online. Our phone and email contacts are at the end of this message.

Be flexible: We are doing everything we can to keep new mortgage loans on track, but many people and businesses—appraisers, sellers, Realtors, closing agents, county registries—are affected by this crisis and there may be unexpected delays for reasons we can’t control. It’s important to keep communicating.

No foreclosures: We will not foreclosure on any home during NH’s State of Emergency. This is part of a coordinated statewide effort to keep people in their homes and to minimize financial challenges as much as possible.

What you can do

Ask for help: Tell us what you need. We want to do whatever we can to keep you in your home. If you’re having trouble making your Welcome Home Loan payments because of lost pay, illness, or other COVID-related issues, we have flexible, emergency solutions that can help you through it. Monthly payments can be rescheduled, and credit reporting put on hold. Visit the secure Hardship Assistance web page.of our loan servicing company, Dovenmuehle Mortgage (DMI). You can also call them at (888) 925-1892, but please be aware that the company is currently swamped with requests. Going through the website is your best bet..

Use your tools: DMI also has many online tools to help you get up-to-date information about your loan, or how to reach us with any question or concern you have. These include secure mobile app, web portal, electronic payments, and online chat tools designed for your convenience. Use the secure website or download the app called Your Mortgage Online from Google Play or the Apple store and log in.

Call Easy Assistance: Our free and confidential help line is available to all our borrowers around the clock, and offers help with family, work, or other life challenges. Its services include referrals to counselors, attorneys, or debt management services. Connect with them online or call (888) 923-1982.

Call 2-1-1: Dial 211 and you’ll be connected, at no cost, with specialists who can provide health and human service information you need to get help or give help. www.211nh.org

Apply for Unemployment Assistance: N.H. residents who are laid off, in quarantine, caring for family members, or caring for children, are now eligible for immediate financial assistance. This includes all food service workers affected by the state order allowing take-out dining only. The state's unemployment insurance office can be reached at www.nhes.nh.gov or by calling (603) 271-7700.

Beware of scams: Scammers take advantage of the headlines and prey on people's fears, and the Coronavirus is no exception. As always, check your sources, don't click on email links you don't know, don’t answer a phone call if you don’t recognize the number, and do your homework. The Federal Trade Commission's website has lots of helpful information.

Protect yourself financially: As you plan for the potential impact of the Coronavirus, there are steps you can take to help protect yourself or a loved one financially, both in the short and long terms. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has good, trusted, information to share. Check back often.

In moments of crisis, our people and connections are our greatest assets. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay in touch as we work through this time together.
